CANCELLED: How Bad Are Our Emissions From Shipping? (Clifton Climate Action)

April 9, 2020 @ 7:30 pm 9:30 pm

Shipping emissions, like international aviation, are not included in any country’s greenhouse gas bill – and they have been growing fast. 2020 will be a year of significant change as new fuel regulations come in but will this be enough? What is the industry’s carbon goal and how do they intend to achieve it? Do we all simply need to stop buying so much ship-freighted stuff?

Simon Baughen, Professor of Shipping Law at Swansea University, will be explaining the challenges facing the industry, their response and how we all can play a part.

CCA will be hosting this event at Clifton Library. Doors will open at 7pm and the discussion itself will begin at 7:30 with plenty of time for questions from the audience. This is a free event and all are welcome, although a donation of £2 per person is requested.
