CANCELLED: Bristol Mayoral Climate Hustings (Clifton Climate Action)

April 23, 2020 @ 7:30 pm 9:30 pm

Since the last election for Mayor of Bristol four years ago, there has been an earthquake in the political landscape. Public awareness of the climate and ecological crisis has soared, and in November 2018, Bristol City Council became the first UK council to declare a climate emergency. The Council has set a target for Bristol to become carbon neutral by 2030.
This will be a huge undertaking, and will mean that climate and ecological action will need to be at the heart of city policies. The Mayor’s role will be pivotal.
Clifton Climate Action is delighted to host a climate hustings for the 2020 mayoral election, for the candidates to talk about their plans to make the city sustainable.
We have invited the candidates from the four main parties – Conservative, Green, Labour, and Liberal Democrat – and now we need your questions for them. Please send them to CliftonClimateAction@hotmail.com. We won’t be able to ask all of your questions but aim to represent the range of issues that emerge.
At the event, we’ll begin with each candidate summarising their position, then have questions from the chairperson to the candidates, and then questions direct from the audience.
CCA will be hosting this event at Clifton Library. Doors will open at 7pm and the discussion itself will begin at 7:30 with plenty of time for questions from the audience. This is a free event and all are welcome, although a donation of £2 per person is requested.
We look forward to seeing you and advise you to book early. We cannot guarantee entrance without a ticket.
