An illustrated talk by one of the curators of Livingstone St. Ives, a Cornish gallery based in St. Ives and Clifton. The session will consider the ways in which we look at and understand contemporary art and explore ways of seeing. The session will encourage discussion on how we see and interpret art and consider some basic analytical devices and frameworks to aid understanding, and will consider examples of paintings from the gallery. We anticipate a lively evening with some thought-provoking discussion offering differing viewpoints. FREE
