Jonathan Bradley and Yealand Kalfayan will talk about their forthcoming book The Cardinal, Cleopatra and the Pasha. The title refers to the exotic names of some butterflies that occur in France, where there are many more species than in Britain. Jonathan will tell their stories, while Yealand will display their photographic portraits. Their 2020 book about British butterflies, A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies, was very well received. The new book will contain original poems, stories and images. Jonathan Bradley has had a varied career in academia and business and has been writing for many years. His other previous publications include Papiliones, Sibling Poets, and City Sonnets, as well as many magazine articles.
Yealand Kalfayan, a retired GP from Bristol, is an accomplished wildlife photographer, specialising in flowers and insects, and an expert on butterfly behaviour. He is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society.
