All these women tell their very personal stories with an amazing memory for detail and great honesty - perhaps because this was their last chance to record what it was really like to be a girl or young woman in these extraordinary times. In his talk David Bolton recounts many of these quirky, terrifying, humorous and sometimes heroic war stories.
