Clifton Village LitFest
Jessica Andrews
Sat 16th Nov 2024 3.00pm Clifton Library, Meeting Room

Set in Barcelona, this novel’s sticky, uncomfortable narrative asks questions about the ways in which we learn to self-police our desires, and why we might deny our own needs and wants. Jessica Andrews is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at City University, London, and writes fiction and non-fiction. Her debut novel Saltwater won the Portico Prize in 2020 and her second novel Milk Teeth was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature Encore Award in 2023. Her writing has been featured on BBC Front Row, BBC Woman's Hour and BBC Radio 3. She was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction Futures for writers under the age of 35 and longlisted for the BBC National Short Story Award in 2022. She co-runs literary and arts magazine The Grapevine and co-presents literary podcast Tender Buttons.

Tickets are £12 and available via Eventbrite using the link below or in person at the library during opening hours – cash only. Tickets will also be available outside library opening hours, in the library, on a Wednesday morning 10.30 – 12.30 when card payments will also be accepted.
