In her new book, Technology is not the Problem, Timandra Harkness asks why we are susceptible to the seductions of personalising technology, and she makes the connection between building our online personae through technology, and our desire to create who we are through how others see us.
Timandra Harkness is a broadcaster, statistician and mathematician who came to science through comedy. Her BBC documentaries include Data, Data Everywhere and Personality Politics, and she is a regular on Radio 4. Timandra also regularly writes about data, algorithms and our relationship with technology for many publications.
