Clifton Village LitFest
Noreen Masud
Sun 17th Nov 2024 1.00pm Clifton Library, Meeting Room

Noreen Masud has always loved flat landscapes - their stark beauty, their formidable calm, their refusal to cooperate with the human gaze. They reflect her inner world: the 'flat place' she carries inside herself, emotional numbness and memory loss as symptoms of childhood trauma. Robert MacFarlane called it 'sharp, subtle and very moving'. Masud, who is a Lecturer in 20th Century Literature, University of Bristol, and an AHRC/BBC New Generation Thinker, will be in conversation with Lizzie Moss of
Heron Books, Clifton.

Tickets are £12 and available via Eventbrite using the link below or in person at the library during opening hours – cash only. Tickets will also be available outside library opening hours, in the library, on a Wednesday morning 10.30 – 12.30 when card payments will also be accepted.
