Emily Koch worked as a journalist in the city before going on to become a successful author of three crime fiction novels including If I Die Before I Wake. Set in Bristol it was praised by The Guardian as 'a debut to be reckoned with'. Bryan J Mason’s second novel, a black comedy, An Old Tin Can, is set in Belfast during the ‘troubles', whilst Gilly Macmillan, the author of eight internationally bestselling crime novels including The Fall, described as a 'standout psychological thriller' by The Wall Street Journal, has used Bristol as a location in a number of her books.
Moderating the panel will be Jade Chandler, the publishing director of Baskerville, a literary crime and thriller imprint based at Hachette UK's Bristol office. Baskerville publishes critically acclaimed writers including Mick Herron, Natalie Marlow and Rose Wilding.
